    What is your why?

What is your why?, what do you mean by WHY?

Why do you play softball or baseball or any other sport? What is your reason WHY you go to practice, WHY you get up and go to practice even when you don’t feel well or if the weather is bad?

As the saying goes, if you do what you love and love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.

How things work or the strategy of a winning coach or someone being successful has always intrigued me.

I like to look for patterns when I look at games, I like to understand what makes coaches or teams successful, I like the challenge to evaluate teams we’re playing against and forecast the outcome.

I like to develop new strategies to improve our chances of winning but most of all work out how I would counter the strategy if someone else used it against us.

Small things amuses small minds, but small things changed can have a huge impact on the outcome of a game. So I always look for the SMALL things that can change a game or give us the edge.

Take the position of your glove when you are about to receive a ball from a fielder and you have a runner that have taking a lead when the pitcher released the ball, if you’re right handed most of the players will hold their glove/mitt on their left side to receive the ball, which means the time it takes to transfer the ball to the right hand to be able to throw takes longer than when you hold the glove on your right side closer to your hand which gives you quicker access to the ball and the opportunity to get the runner out who took the lead.

    Small thing changed BIG difference.
